I’ve been thinking a lot about payments this week, probably because we just moved into our apartment a couple months ago and suddenly have a bunch of new ones to keep up with. Between our electricity due on the 12th, our internet on the 26th, and our Rooms To Go credit card on the 19th (because of that 0% interest financing deal we couldn’t resist), it’s easy for dates to get lost in my head. I realized most trackers I’ve seen are calendar-based, but honestly, I don’t need a full monthly view. I just need a simple way to see what’s due and when so I don’t accidentally miss anything.
I’m the one who handles all our payments, and even though a couple of our bills are on autopay, I like to make sure we actually have enough in our checking account to cover them. I’m one of those people who keeps most of our money in savings until it’s time to pay, so I still need a clear reminder of what’s coming up. Having multiple payments on random dates makes it hard to remember everything, even with autopay in place. I realized that when everything is scattered in my head, or in different apps, it actually feels more stressful than it needs to.
I realized that most trackers are set up as monthly calendars, which didn’t feel helpful for me. I wanted something that showed every payment date in a straightforward way, without the clutter of a full calendar or extra appointments. I just needed a clean, simple list where I could see each due date and the payment at a glance. That was the moment I decided to make my own version.
The tracker I made is just a numbered list where I can write the payment and the amount next to each due date. It’s straightforward, easy to update, and doesn’t feel overwhelming. Every time I sit down to check the month ahead, I can see at a glance which bills are coming up and make sure the money is there. It’s kind of satisfying to cross something off once it’s paid, and it actually makes the whole process feel calmer instead of chaotic.
Even though it’s simple, it’s been a total game-changer for me. I like that I can take it with me anywhere. I keep it digitally on my phone so it’s always accessible, and it’s just a quick reference instead of a full-blown planner page. It’s not about having some fancy system; it’s about something that works with my habits and the way I manage money.
If you’ve got a few bills on different dates, or even autopay ones that you still want to track, you might find it helpful too. I designed mine to be flexible, so you can print it out or keep it digital, whichever fits your style. Honestly, just having one simple page to see everything at a glance has made my monthly routine feel way less stressful!
