Low-Carb Breakfast Hibachi

Who says hibachi is only for dinner? This weekend I whipped up a low-carb breakfast hibachi (meaning I just made it for breakfast) and it was everything. Juicy NY strips, tender zucchini and onion, all coated in Japanese BBQ sauce, plus a creamy white sauce on the side!

Ingredients

  • NY strip steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 zucchini, chopped
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • Japanese BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • White sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Olive oil or cooking oil of choice

Instructions

  1. Cook the steak: Heat a pan over medium-high heat, add a bit of oil, and pan-fry the NY strip pieces until cooked to your liking. Toss in Japanese BBQ sauce and stir to coat. Remove from pan and set aside.
  2. Cook the veggies: In a separate pan, heat oil over medium heat. Sauté zucchini and onion until tender, then add Japanese BBQ sauce and toss until evenly coated.
  3. Serve: Plate the steak and veggies together. Drizzle with white sauce on the side for dipping or topping. Enjoy!

Notes / Tips

  • This works as a low-carb alternative to classic hibachi by skipping the rice.
  • Double up on veggies for more fiber and volume.
  • Swap NY strips for chicken or shrimp if you want variety.
