Who says hibachi is only for dinner? This weekend I whipped up a low-carb breakfast hibachi (meaning I just made it for breakfast) and it was everything. Juicy NY strips, tender zucchini and onion, all coated in Japanese BBQ sauce, plus a creamy white sauce on the side!
Ingredients
- NY strip steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 zucchini, chopped
- 1 small onion, chopped
- Japanese BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- White sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Olive oil or cooking oil of choice
Instructions
- Cook the steak: Heat a pan over medium-high heat, add a bit of oil, and pan-fry the NY strip pieces until cooked to your liking. Toss in Japanese BBQ sauce and stir to coat. Remove from pan and set aside.
- Cook the veggies: In a separate pan, heat oil over medium heat. Sauté zucchini and onion until tender, then add Japanese BBQ sauce and toss until evenly coated.
- Serve: Plate the steak and veggies together. Drizzle with white sauce on the side for dipping or topping. Enjoy!
Notes / Tips
- This works as a low-carb alternative to classic hibachi by skipping the rice.
- Double up on veggies for more fiber and volume.
- Swap NY strips for chicken or shrimp if you want variety.
