Welcome to The Young Wife

Hi friends, and welcome to The Young Wife!

I married my husband, Jake, when I was 20, and now at 21 I’m learning every day what it means to be a wife. I’m doing my best to grow into the role God has given me, to love my husband well, and to build a home filled with joy and grace. I definitely don’t have it all figured out, but I think that’s part of the beauty of this season – learning as I go.

Jake is an amazing man. He makes me laugh, takes care of me, and works hard to share life’s responsibilities with me so neither of us feels overwhelmed. Recently, we added a new member to our little family: our dog, Ealey. He’s been such a blessing (and a handful!), but we love him already. On top of that, we’ve just moved into our first apartment, which feels like a whole new adventure in itself.

This blog is a place where I’ll be sharing bits and pieces of our life, the routines we’re figuring out, the lessons I’m learning about marriage and faith, and the everyday ups and downs that come with building a home together. I’ll sprinkle in some recipes too (I do love to cook), but this space is really more about life itself: growing in my faith, making our apartment feel like home, learning patience (especially with a puppy!), and finding joy in the little things.

I want this blog to feel like a conversation, cozy, encouraging, and real. My hope is that you’ll find something here that resonates with you, whether you’re a newlywed yourself, preparing for marriage, or simply curious about what life looks like for a young wife just starting out.
