Some nights you want something that feels a little special without turning into a whole production. This is one of those dinners. Steak, crispy parmesan asparagus, and those Texas Roadhouse rolls that honestly make the meal on their own.
This is the kind of meal I make when I want real food, not something complicated. Nothing fancy, nothing trendy, just solid comfort food that feels like you tried without actually stressing yourself out. It’s also perfect for a stay in date night or an easy weekend dinner when you don’t feel like going out.
Simple ingredients, minimal prep, and everything comes together quickly. That’s my favorite kind of recipe.
Ingredients
Steak
- Steak of choice (sirloin, ribeye, or strip work well)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Optional seasonings: garlic powder, onion powder, or steak seasoning
- Olive oil or butter for the pan
Parmesan Asparagus
- 1 bunch asparagus, ends trimmed
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- Grated parmesan cheese
Texas Roadhouse Rolls
- Texas Roadhouse rolls (store-bought, frozen)
- Cinnamon honey butter (optional, for serving)
Instructions
Steak
- Pat the steak dry and season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings you like.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a little olive oil or butter.
- Add the steak to the hot pan and cook until medium well, flipping once. Cooking time will depend on thickness, but usually about 4 to 6 minutes per side.
- Remove from the pan and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Parmesan Asparagus
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Place asparagus on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Toss to coat evenly.
- Season lightly with salt and pepper, then sprinkle grated parmesan over the top.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until tender with slightly crispy edges.
Texas Roadhouse Rolls
- Prepare rolls according to the package instructions.
- Serve warm with cinnamon honey butter if desired.
